Hello and welcome to my new blog, Touchdowns and Takedowns! I am Julian Pellegrini, and I have followed and bet on both the UFC and NFL for some time now, and so I have decided to begin sharing my weekly betting tips with other fans. I hope you guys appreciate this content, and I encourage you to reach out via my email, julian.pellegrini@mohawkcollege.ca, with any questions you may have.
For this weekend, let's start with my NFL picks that I believe have a good chance of hitting and making you some money. We are entering week 6 in what has been a strange, and thus hard to predict, season of football so far. One sleeper pick I have for this weeks slate of games is taking the Washington Commanders over the Baltimore Ravens, against whom they are 6.5 point underdogs. Jayden Daniels and the Commanders offense have looked great so far this year, and their defense looked shutdown last week against the Browns. It's always hard to bet against Baltimore, but with the money line in this one it might be worth taking the risk to win big. Another sleeper pick I identified is taking Arizona to beat the Green Bay Packers, who are favored by 5.5 points. Arizona has looked good at times this year, and are riding high fresh off their comeback win over the 49ers last week. If they can carry that momentum into this week and Jordan Love continues to struggle, Arizona could pull off the massive upset and win you some serious cash. Moving on to some safer picks, I would take the Colts to beat the Titans, the Chargers to beat the Broncos, and the Steelers to defeat the Raiders. A parlay built with these three outcomes should net you a solid return.
In the UFC we have this Saturday "UFC Fight Night: Royval vs Taira". The card is pretty weak on star power, and I can't say that I am very familiar with most of the fighters on the main card. Therefore, I will only offer advice for the main event. Tatsuro Taira, the -300 favorite, is undefeated so far in his professional MMA career, and has finished his last two opponents in the UFC via knockout. Brandon Royval meanwhile has gone to decision in his last two Octagon appearances, a win and a loss, and he only narrowly prevailed in his last bout. Royval is an intriguing underdog here as he has experience against the best in the division, but I would lean with putting your money on Taira, who has momentum on his side.
That's all from me for this week, but check back soon for more NFL and UFC betting analysis/reactions. Good luck everyone!
